Garden

6/24 update    Totally amazing..... the Three Sisters Trilogy (Corn interplanted with Pole Beans and Squash) in evolution:  The pole beans fix nitrogen at the base of the corn and use the stalk as lattice, and the squash shade the soil from the sun and attract pollinators.....

From the beginning of June, to the end of June:

6/1 update: our garden is ... rocking. I am totally amazed.... it looks like Monticello here!!

4/30 Update

Our garden is coming along beautifully! Spring weather - an alternation of wet, cool, warm and sunny, has been perfect so far for all the early spring starts we have put in the ground.. both transplants and seeds. (Lettuce, kale, chard, spinach, radishes, broccoli, cabbage, carrots!) Pictures below, showing the change after just one week....

Next work party: Saturday May 1st!!!!  Weeding, planting, and watering!!!

We got 5 yards of compost delivered, and Miriam, Andrea, Leela, and Marine all pitched in to help wheelbarrow the piles of soil around the garden. We are ready to start!!

February:

Okay... Here is the idea:   We have a great big backyard. Currently, it is our (Jamba and Ros and I) belief that our backyard is being underutilized.

SO.... lets have a community garden!

If you are hungering to get your hands in the dirt but don't have the space at home to do it.... Come be a part of our garden! We are thinking this could be done in two ways.. we can either give you a section of the garden for you to grow your own plants, or you could pitch in a little bit of money and time to help us with the main garden plot (tentatively) outlined below. (Probably about $30 and about one-two days per month to help with watering, weeding and harvesting.)

You would be able to share in the bounty of harvest, as well as reap the benefits of getting your hands dirty and your soul replenished!

Let us know if you are interested.

Love,
Erin, Ros, and Jamba.
